My work features biomorphic forms that pull inspiration from natural systems in our environment and from my Korean heritage.  These forms resonate with my experience as a biracial person navigating layered identities and shifting cultural contexts. My inspirations and forms represent my experience—shaped by internal emotion and external influence, much like how nature adapts and transforms over time.

ARTIST STATEMENT

I build using a coil technique that allows each form to emerge slowly and intuitively. Working at a large scale, the sculptures take on a bold physical presence, while their surfaces are often textured, glazed, or gently adorned with appliqué. My process begins with sensation—whether emotional or bodily—and becomes a way to externalize internal experiences. Through biomorphic shapes, I give form to ideas that resist fixed definition, allowing the sculptures to hold space for transformation, contradiction, and self-discovery.
